The Minor
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for the minor in French are the same as the prerequisites for the major.
Requirements
The minor in French and Francophone Studies requires a minimum of 15 credits of courses taught in French. Either French 240 or 250 (with a grade of B+ or better) may count for three credits towards the minor. A minimum of 12 credits must be earned at the 300 level or above (with a grade of C or better in each course). These must include French 371 Advanced Grammar and Composition I, French 473 Advanced Grammar and Composition II, and at a minimum one of either French 384, 386, 388, or a 400-level course in literature, intellectual history and/or culture taught entirely in French. No more than 3 credits received during a study-abroad semester may be applied to the minor.
