The Minor
Requirements
For the Minor in the History of Art and Architecture, students must complete five courses (16-17 credits) in the History of Art and Architecture, as follows:
- 100 Survey: Ancient to Medieval Art (4 cr)
- 110 Survey: Renaissance to Modern Art (4 cr)
- Three upper-level courses (3 cr each)
or
- 115 Visual Arts, Artists, and Cultures: An Introduction to Looking (4 cr)
- Four upper-level courses (3 cr each)
or
- 118 History of Architecture and the Built Environment (4 cr)
- Four upper-level courses (3 cr each)
or
- 115 Visual Arts, Artists, and Cultures: An Introduction to Looking (4 cr)
- 118 History of Architecture and the Built Environment (4 cr)
- Three upper-level courses (3 cr each)
Courses must be completed with a grade of at least C to be counted toward the minor.
At least three of the five courses must be taken in the History of Art and Architecture Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
