The Department of Health Promotion and Policy (HPP) prepares public health professionals to design and implement programs to assist all people to participate in their life situations to the fullest extent of their capabilities, and to work in health care organizations and federal, state, and local public health agencies.

The Community Health Education (CHE) program enables people to gain control over the social, political, and personal conditions that affect their health. Community health educators are on the frontlines of this nation’s efforts to reduce health disparities and improve quality of life.

The Health Policy and Management (HPM) program uses an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating social, behavioral, economic, and political science approaches to increase our understanding of health services and policy to improve the health of populations. Graduates of the program are equipped with the conceptual models, analytical foundations, and practical skills necessary to solve complex health-related problems.
